First post…

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, share my travel experiences whether good or bad with people who may decide to visit the same places. I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana so as a kid I never even considered traveling so much because like many growing up there you never really saw yourself leaving your neighborhood let alone the country. I moved to Auckland, New Zealand in 2010 pretty much by accident. Alot of people laugh when I say I moved halfway across the world by accident but it’s truly what happened. Before I came here I had barely even heard of New Zealand, so I was kind of nervous. I was living in Las Vegas at the time and I had visited other countries like Mexico, Canada and Trinidad but THIS was different I was literally going on the other side of the world. When I arrived I didn’t know what to expect up until that point all I saw only was a bunch of pictures but to my surprise it was far better than I imagined. The people are extremely friendly, the weather is lovely and THE POLICE DONT HAVE GUNS…. I repeat…. THE POLICE DONT HAVE GUNS and not much crime. There’s a great mix of culture and ethnicities in Auckland a lot of which I wasn’t accustomed to being around. There’s a beautiful beach within a 5 minute drive in either direction from my house. Which of course makes me want to swim but I can’t lol I’m taking lessons though so hopefully that will be situated soon. My favorite beach is Long Bay Beach, sometimes I go there and just sit and stare out at the water for hours. I don’t really care for the city center too much it’s a bit too much hustle and bustle for my liking, although I love going to the Viaduct for the occasional lunch or dinner. It’s not really expensive compared to some other places I’ve been but from what I hear the housing prices are a bit out of hand. Ok I’ll end this one here, I’ll try to post every week or so. I’ll go back from here to recant past experiences as well as new ones.

Hello world!

I’ve started this to share my traveling experiences and whatever else crosses my mind. I hope you enjoy!
